Vintage 1940s Pink Rayon Satin Nightgown, NOS Luxite Holeproof Bias-Cut Slip with Lace Bodice & Bows, M–L

Beautiful vintage 1940s pink rayon satin nightgown by Luxite / Holeproof, featuring a soft liquid sheen and retaining its original paper tag. A dreamy and exceptionally flattering piece of mid-century lingerie, this gown is cut on the bias, allowing the fabric to skim and flow gracefully over the body — a silhouette rooted in late 1930s Art Deco design that carried beautifully into the 1940s.

The bodice is styled with a wide V-shaped floral lace yoke that continues over the shoulders into the back, creating an elegant, softly framed neckline. Delicate ribbon bows accent each shoulder, adding a charming feminine touch. The lightly gathered bust and natural-waist seam shape the figure gently, while adjustable side ties at the back allow for a customized fit. The long bias-cut skirt falls in a fluid sweep and is finished with matching scalloped lace trim at the hem.

This nightgown is especially notable for its deadstock status. It has never been worn and still retains its original Luxite “fashion-approved underthings by Holeproof” paper tag. While the bias-cut silhouette and soft peachy-pink tone are reminiscent of late 1930s styles, the Luxite by Holeproof branding places production in the late 1940s, following the company’s postwar merger — making this a wonderful example of transitional design blending Art Deco elegance with mid-century manufacture.
