Vintage 1940s Ostrich Feather Fascinator Hat with Sequins & Velvet Trim, 40s Mini Perch Hat

Gorgeous vintage 1940s mini fascinator hat crafted with a horsehair base and dramatic feather embellishment. Three striking cream ostrich feathers crown the top, complemented by smaller brownish-black fan feathers at the back for added depth and texture. The base of the crown is wrapped in dusty rose and brown braided velvet trim, accented with spiraling green sequin strands that add a subtle sparkle.

At the back, the velvet trim is finished into a sculptural bow centered with a circular faceted black embellishment — a wonderful period detail. Crimped horsehair edging defines the silhouette, with pink velvet trim visible beneath for a soft pop of color. The crown is shallow, designed to perch atop the head rather than fit snugly, in true 1940s fascinator style. The interior is finished with petersham lining.

Size: Marked 22 (this style is meant to sit atop the head and does not fit like a traditional full-coverage hat)

Front to back: approx. 8 3/4"
Side to side: approx. 8 1/4"

Condition: Good vintage condition. Feathers remain in excellent shape. Small stitched reinforcement is present at the upper right side of the crown, largely concealed by the feather arrangement. A small break to the horsehair is present along the back seam and is noted for transparency.
