Vintage 1940s Black Felted Wool Sculptural Fan Pleated Topper Hat

Avant-garde vintage 1940s black felted wool topper hat featuring back fan pleats resembling wings! A structured loop at the back allows for easy positioning and a tilted front, if preferred. Petersham inner crown trim with a tag reading “Adjustable Head Size.” The interior crown is stamped “100% Wool,” though I cannot make out the remainder of the stamp. A skinny “chin strap” band is attached to the petersham lining.

Measurements: Meant to fit atop crown, not down snug.
Inner circumference: 17 1/2"

*Please note: I have a 22" head circumference and this fit great!

Condition: Very Good! Inner front edge of topper hat has what appears to be makeup residue.
