Vintage 1920s Geometric Batik Print Silk Opera Cape with Rhinestone Deco Clasp

Amazing antique vintage 1920s silk opera cape styled with a dramatic ruched collar lined in black velvet and featuring a vibrant geometric batik Deco print in eye-catching shades of magenta, pink, coral, purple and blue! The collar can be manipulated to fold down or sit more upright for a more dramatic visage and the front neckline has a fabulous faceted cut steel embellished plastic Deco clasp closure. Black horse hair fringe extends from a 1/4” trim band just below the ruching and it’s also featured as a tiered hem. The cape is lined in silk with a wide band of the colorful geometric Batik deco print towards the hem. Two velvet arm bands are sewn in at each front side which helps keep the cape in place. Only other closure besides Deco clasp are two hook/eyes at front neckline. I’ve pictured with both hook/eyes closed and one closed. Also there is some sort of thin padding in-between the outer silk and interior silk - most likely a thin layer of cotton padding but I did not want to open a seam in order to check. Please note: the main color is a grayish black with a slight brown undertone.

Condition: Very Good! Faint rust speckling / discoloration at front left side near seam. Barely visible light spot on upper back below ruching. Interior lining has minor soil at upper back.
