Vintage 1920s Beaded Net & Silk Dress, Art Deco Evening Gown, S/M - Medium

Vintage 1920s beaded net lace and black silk drop-waist evening dress, richly layered and dramatic in true Jazz Age fashion. The dress is styled with a sleeveless creamy beige silk under-bodice overlaid in net lace, intricately embellished with a floral design rendered in midnight blue, aqua, lavender, and lilac glass beadwork. The colorful beading pops beautifully against the neutral silk ground and adds striking Art Deco character.

Over the beaded bodice sits a sheer black silk chiffon overlay with a pronounced deep V neckline that intentionally showcases the ornate lace beneath. Long sheer sleeves feature softly ruched shoulders, silk-trimmed hems, and delicate bow accents, adding movement and elegance. A silk cummerbund encircles the drop waist and is finished with an Art Deco–style buckle, anchoring the silhouette.

The skirt is constructed with a straight solid black silk base, overlaid with floating panels of sheer black silk chiffon that move fluidly with the body. There are no closures; the dress slips on over the head and is designed for a relaxed, body-skimming fit typical of the era.

Condition: Good- vintage condition; TLC needed. The silk under-bodice shows tearing at the underarms, a 2" slit at the back, and tears at the upper back left shoulder. The sheer black silk overlay has one minor tear and two tiny holes. Please note: in order to wear this dress, the under-bodice will need stabilization or replacement. All condition issues are consistent with age and have been fully disclosed.
