Late 1910s 1920s Feather Trim Wool Soutache Coat, L - XL

Fantastic antique late 1910s or 1920s light gray wool coat completely covered in black silk soutache tape lace braid! In addition to the swirling and criss-crossing soutache braid, trimmed cutwork velvet flower appliqués are strategically placed down the front sides, at the top and bottom of each of the 8 split scalloped hem panels as well as the curved sleeve hems. Pale gray feathers trim the heavily braided black collar partially extending down the front neckline along with accordion pleated silk trim. The coat closes with a wonderful black Mercury shank button. The corresponding loop closure for the button was missing so I hand-stitched on a black silk ribbon loop. The coat is fully lined in black silk with an interior pocket on the front left.

Condition: Very Good / Presents Beautifully! Some of the soutache braid is broken / no longer connected. Minor wear to pleated silk trim. Some feathers come loose when handling. Silk lining in overall good condition with three minor tears and a hand stitched silk patch at inner nape (last collage).
