Edwardian 1900s White Cotton Gauze Lingerie Dress with Floral Net & Mother-of-Pearl Buttons, XS

Gorgeous antique Edwardian summer dress crafted from semi-sheer white cotton gauze, richly decorated with ornate padded-stitch embroidery. The embroidery features delicate floral bouquets and scrolling ornamental border motifs, accented with charming tiny tassel designs — a wonderful example of early 1900s needlework and surface decoration.

The shawl-style bodice is lavishly embroidered and frames a dainty scalloped net lace neckline, which continues into a small silk-trimmed collar at the back. A central net lace inset at the bust is accented with decorative oval mother-of-pearl buttons, with hidden hook-and-eye closures concealed beneath for a clean, elegant front. Two-thirds length sleeves finish in a medley of fine lace trims.

A defined, nipped waist transitions into a sweeping, floor-length skirt with beautiful movement. The embroidered motifs reappear at the hem, encircling the lower portion of the skirt with the same ornate padded-stitch design for a cohesive, high-quality finish. Additional hook-and-eye closures are present along the left side waist, extending partially into the skirt.

For reference, model is 5'2" with a 31.5" bust and 25.5" waist. The waist closure fastened but fit snugly.

Condition: Good to very good antique condition. Minor soiling is present to the padded-stitch embroidery at the front right bodice (shown in image 8), which should improve with cleaning. Tiny remnants of silk trimming remain at the front and back bodice (shown in image 9). Darning is present at the lace sleeve hem, along with a few very small holes and wear to the silk trimming at the back collar.
