Antique Edwardian 1900s–1910s Black & White Polka Dot Cotton Gauze Dress, XS

Excellent antique late 1900s–1910s Edwardian black and white cotton gauze day dress, crafted in a semi-sheer polka dot cotton gauze. Beneath the outer gauze layer is a partially visible interior solid black cotton under-bodice, fastening with black mother-of-pearl button closures and providing structure and coverage.

The sheer polka dot cotton gauze overlay is styled with fine tuck pleats and soft gathers through the bodice, creating a relaxed yet elegant Edwardian silhouette. A high waistband defines the figure and closes at the left side with hook-and-eye closures. The skirt falls in a gathered ankle-to-floor length sweep with lovely movement. Shown styled with a white cotton petticoat underneath for fullness; petticoat is not included in the sale.
