Antique Edwardian 1900s Pink Silk Dress with Lace Trim, Dagger Collar & Bishop Sleeves, XS

Gorgeous antique 1900s Edwardian light pink silk afternoon dress, ethereal and fluid with a truly angelic presence. Crafted from luminous blush-pink silk, the fabric moves beautifully with the body and is richly detailed with needlerun embroidered net and delicate lace trim throughout.

The bodice is styled in a soft blouson silhouette with a vest-style overlay trimmed in scalloped lace. A striking lace dagger collar frames the neckline, extending into diagonal points at the front and finishing with a short lace shawl collar at the back. Long bishop sleeves feature lace-trimmed openings. A partially attached silk waistband encircles the waist and is adorned with double bows that snap into place at the center front.

The skirt is especially captivating: a cascading asymmetrical silhouette that falls from ankle to floor length, detailed with pleated flap extensions that flow in fluid waves and finish with a rolled silk hem. Beneath the outer silk skirt is a sheer cotton underskirt trimmed with exquisite scalloped embroidered lace at the hem, adding depth and movement.

The bodice is fully lined in fine sheer cotton, with a wide interior grosgrain waistband secured by two hook-and-eye closures. The dress fastens down the back of the inner cotton bodice and skirt with hook-and-eyes, with additional snaps at the waist, skirt, and silk vest overlay. The silk is imprinted along the inner hem with the maker’s mark “Genuine Pussy Willow.”

Condition: Extremely good antique condition and structurally excellent. Minor specking is present on the silk bodice. The skirt has a few additional spots, with the most notable near the hem (including faint food remnants, shown in the photo collage). A couple of spots are present on the net lace collar, along with a small hole near the skirt hem. Yellowing is visible at the underarms on the cotton lining. At the back of the vest underside, a small area of pink silk needs to be re-stitched to the cotton under-bust on the right side. All issues are minor, consistent with age, and do not detract from the overall presentation. Please enlarge photos for detail.
