Antique Late 1920s Early 1930s Black Silk Velvet Dress with Beaded Neckline & Satin-Lined Bell Sleeves

Striking antique late 1920s to very early 1930s evening dress crafted in rich black silk velvet with beautiful fluid movement and a soft, light-catching sheen. The bodice is styled with a deep V neckline framed by an intricate beaded and embroidered panel in white, light pink, and silver gray — softly sculptural in shape and distinctly Deco in feel. The dress closes at the left side waist with five snap fasteners, allowing the velvet to skim the body cleanly without interrupting the silhouette. The waist sits low and relaxed, flowing into a gently flared skirt with lovely drape and swing.

Dramatic bell sleeves add visual impact, each finished with an ivory satin lining that flashes beautifully with movement and provides subtle contrast against the black velvet. The combination of velvet and satin gives the dress depth and richness without feeling heavy.

*Please note: even with the snap closures, you'll need to be able to pull this dress on over your head. Model's measurements as follows: 5'2" with 31.5" bust, 25.5" waist and 37" hip. Bust had room but otherwise fit very well.

Condition: Very Good / Wearable
Silk velvet remains supple and wearable, showing areas of nap wear and directional sheen consistent with age and use, most noticeable in certain light and at stress points. These variations are typical of antique silk velvet and do not detract from the overall presentation. The beaded neckline shows some bead loss and loose threads; the design remains intact and visually striking. No major structural issues noted.
