Antique Edwardian 1900s Taupe Textured Silk Dress with Brown Velvet, Cream Lace & Emerald Green Trim, XS

Beautiful antique Edwardian dress dating to the early 1900s, crafted in a textured taupe silk with a soft, fluid drape. The silk features a subtle dot motif that gently varies in scale across the body. The bodice is anchored by rich brown velvet panels and trimmed with intricate cream lace, forming a striking contrast against the taupe silk. At the neckline, two adorable small brown velvet bows trimmed in emerald green silk sit at the top. The lacework is especially lovely, with organic, scrolling motifs that frame the neckline and continue through the back. A wide brown velvet sash defines the waist and is finished with a dramatic oversized velvet bow, accented with emerald green silk trim.

The sleeves are softly gathered and layered, creating an elegant overlay effect that visually conceals the underarm area. Lace-trimmed velvet cuffs finished with green silk echo the waist & bow detail and bring cohesion throughout the design. The skirt falls long and fluid with gentle fullness, finishing with a softly ruffled hem that moves beautifully when worn.

Condition:
Good- antique condition overall, with important notes. The exterior taupe silk presents beautifully overall; however, there is wear at the underarms, including green discoloration and a tear to the outer taupe silk at one underarm (see photos). The second underarm shows discoloration and seam breakaway. These areas are fully concealed when worn due to the layered sleeve overlay design but do affect the condition of the outer silk. The emerald green silk interior lining is fragile and shows significant splitting and shredding. Lace, velvet, and remaining outer silk are visually strong. This dress should be handled gently and is best suited for light wear, display, or collection.
