Antique c.1900 Cream Lace & Silk Bodice Blouse, Medium

Antique cream lace bodice blouse dating to the early 1900s, beautifully constructed from fine machine-made net lace with applied cotton lace motifs throughout. The blouse features a high neckline with delicate lace trim and a striking applied decorative band across the upper bodice. The softly pouched front reflects the relaxed, bloused silhouette associated with Gibson Girl–era styling. The sleeves are cut at a three-quarter to bracelet length and finished with lace cuffs, and the bodice tapers neatly at the waist with a silk hem waistband intended to sit hidden beneath a separate skirt. The bodice is fully lined in fine ivory silk and closes with snaps up the back.

Condition:
Very good condition. Minor darkened areas to the lace in a few small spots. Light discoloration at the top back collar. Barely visible yellowing to one underarm area. Three snaps were removed at the silk hem, leaving a few tiny open stitch marks.  Minor wear to the silk lining. Shown in photos.
