Antique early 1900s black silk Eton jacket, richly detailed with vibrant embroidered trim and decorative silver-tone button accents. Crafted from crisp, lightweight black silk taffeta, this jacket has the classic slightly boxy Eton silhouette with beautiful structure and presence.
Wide vertical panels of textured woven blackwork frame both the front and back of the jacket. A bold band of embroidered trim runs along the neckline and down the front placket, worked in earthy olive, gold, and red tones that stand out strikingly against the inky black silk. Matching embroidered trim finishes the sleeve cuffs for a cohesive, thoughtfully executed design.
Decorative silver-tone buttons, each featuring a small floral motif, accent the front, back, and neckline. They are paired with applied coiled braid loops, creating a subtle faux-military influence typical of the period. The sleeves are softly gathered at the armscye to form an early 1900s puffed shape, while pleated panels along the torso add further visual interest and structure. The jacket closes down the center front with hook-and-eye fastenings. The front hem dips slightly lower than the back, giving the jacket a sculpted, tailored line.
