Antique 1900s Victorian Edwardian Blue & White Leaf Print Cotton Sateen Day Dress, XXS

Eye-catching antique 1900s Victorian Edwardian cotton sateen day dress in a striking blue and white wavy linear leaf print. The cotton sateen has a soft sheen and substantial hand, well suited to everyday wear at the turn of the century. This dress is beautifully styled with a gathered, fitted neckline and yoke detailed with ruched piping, paired with full leg-of-mutton sleeves that taper elegantly to long fitted cuffs. A wide, nipped waistband defines the waist and anchors the silhouette.

The floor-length skirt is heavily gathered below the waist, creating a sweeping, full silhouette with wonderful movement. A hidden right-side pocket is set into the skirt, and the hem is finished with a flounced edge for added period charm. The bodice, tapered sleeve sections, skirt pocket, and straight under-hem are lined in cotton muslin, providing structure and durability. The dress fastens down the front with hook-and-loop closures and at the left side waistband with one hook and two loops.

Condition: Good- antique condition. Freshly laundered and ready to wear. Overall fading is present, most noticeable along the shoulders and sleeves. There is a small tear at the waistband and a medium-sized tear at the side skirt, both of which could be easily darned if desired. A handful of spots and areas of discoloration are present. Some hook closures are modern replacements.
