Early 1890s Antique Lace Trim Brown Silk Pointed Hem Victorian Bodice Jacket with Fancy Etched MOP Buttons

Antique floral lace trimmed brown silk taffeta bodice jacket circa early 1890s, possibly very late 1880s, featuring a pointed front and back hem and fancy floral etched brown mother of pearl buttons with wonderful iridescence! Styled with a fitted round neckline trimmed with scalloped floral lace that dips into a V with a button accent on the backside. The long sleeves have lace trim that extends down the center with lace covered hems each accented with two buttons. Unique diagonal cut front that fastens with two hook/eyes at top left shoulder featuring 14 non-functional etched MOP shank buttons. The silk taffeta is lined with cotton and the cotton interior closes with hooks and eyes down center front. All interior seams are boned and there is a separate interior silk waistband with two hook/eye closures.

Please note: there are 6 additional stitched button loops (5 hidden by lace trim) that are missing the button accents.

Model is a 31.5" bust and 25 - 25 1/2" waist. Waist was roomy.

Condition: Good!
6 missing buttons mentioned above. 11 very rusty hooks and 5 very rusty eyes need replacements (not including interior waistband). There are tiny open 'ghost' stitches where it appears the bodice was taken out and previous closures were removed. Red hue at underarms. Interior waist band is fragile with tearing & rusty closures.

Can definitely be worn, however, I DO NOT recommend wear until the rusty hooks and eyes are replaced.
