Rare Antique 1900s Floral Silk Jacquard Lace Dress Set, Edwardian Gibson Girl Dress with Pale Blue Silk French Knots, Museum Quality, XS

Extraordinary antique 1900s floral jacquard silk with black polka dots and ecru embroidered needlerun net lace 2pc Edwardian dress set! This Edwardian dress ensemble is absolutely stunning and the little details including the pale blue silk trim and French knots add such an elegant and feminine touch.

The bodice is styled with a silk and French knot trimmed high lace collar neckline with interior flexible collar bones for shape. Double 'suspender' like cutout designs trimmed in the pale blue trim and French knots embellish the shoulders and showcase inserts of the ecru embroidered net lace. A black velvet bow is pinned onto the upper left side bodice. The gathered pigeon breast creates the iconic Gibson Girl silhouette of the turn of the 19th century and early 1900s. The long sleeves with lace trimmed tapered hems also feature tiered pale blue silk trim and French knots. The bodice has an interior cotton lining with sheer muslin lining the silk portion of the sleeves. The interior seams are also boned. The bodice closes with hooks and eyes down from the lace neckline, interior cotton lining and a few hook/loops to the outer silk portion.

Condition: Museum Quality / Near Excellent! / Silk and lace are in immaculate structural / aesthetic condition!

Bodice: Tiny spotting on blouson fold. Velvet bow safety pinned on. Boning at lace collar has bent - I can tell one has broken bits in it. Very minor darkening to lace insertion at left sleeve.

Skirt: Some hand stitches to close seam at center back where tier connects at sides. A hand darn at back waistband where the silk was bought up a tiny bit at top. The very faint spot that you have to examine closely to ever find.

Truly a remarkable ensemble that presents wonderfully!
