Vintage 1920s Beaded Black Flapper Dress, 20s Dress, Art Deco 1920s Evening Dress, Chandler & Co., Inc., S/M - M 38 Bust

Extraordinary antique vintage 1920's beaded black silk chiffon and satin flapper evening dress dated 1923! Truly a special Art Deco dress and in near immaculate condition. Fantastic cutout 'cold shoulder' asymmetrical winged sleeves with additional cutouts and concentrated hand beaded designs around the neckline, waist and hem with numerous vertical beaded strands throughout creating such a flattering silhouette. The outer skirt is comprised of two front and back panels that overlap on the sides, but they are open. Only when you pull these two silk chiffon sides apart can you see the solid silk satin under skirt. The dress closes with snaps down the interior left side of the silk satin under dress from the underarm to drop waist. A small portion of silk chiffon also snaps over and across this satin area from the underarm to side bust. The left side shoulder also has three snap closures making it easier getting the dress off.

A remarkable dress with a hand stitched interior label on skirt reading, "Chandler & Co., Inc. 151 Tremont Street Boston, Mass." and handwritten No. '5704' Date '10-4-23' Name 'Mrs. Frank Hargraves'.

Condition: Near Excellent!
1 stain to inner satin skirt at right side below drop waist. Very hard to see as the silk chiffon overlaps here and you'd need to be examining within inches. (last pic collage - chiffon is lightened on far right image).
