Early 1900s Victorian Edwardian Purple Dress Ensemble, Lace and Velvet Trim Antique Bishop Sleeve Bodice & Skirt Set, XS Museum Quality

Wonderful early 1900s 2pc Victorian Edwardian purple wool crepe dress ensemble with cream lace and black velvet trimmings! The bodice / blouse is styled with a cream lace on satin high collar neckline that has hook/eye closures at center back paired with a black velvet shawl collar accented with ornamental medallions on the front. The long bishop sleeves gather the eye featuring strands of velvet extending upwards from the tapered velvet cuff into smaller medallions. Velvet waistband has two hook/eye closures. The bodice is fully lined in polished or glazed black cotton and is boned at each interior seam. The interior cotton bust has hook/eye closures down the center front. The left side of bodice closes onto stitched loops on the sides of lace up to the shoulder area. Two of those stitched loops appear to be replacements as they are 'white' and not cream.

The sweeping floor length paneled skirt skims over the hips and and continues to flare out towards the hem with an elongated backside. Four long vertical strands of velvet trim the sides of skirt ending into medallions. The backside has two long center pleats. Fully lined in polished / glazed cotton with a velvet dust edge. One hook/eye closures at back waistband.

A few minor holes (all shown) with a minor prick here and there. Collar lining is shredded. Underarms are a little fuzzy / not quite pilling. Cotton lining satin lace on bodice has water staining (cannot see on outside at all).
