Vintage 1930s Magenta Silk Velvet Ruched Evening Gown, Old Hollywood Glamour 30s Evening Dress, S/M - Medium

Absolutely captivating vintage 1930s raspberry magenta hued silk velvet evening dress! This gown is definitely unique and eye-catching in so many ways. Styled with wide set cap like shoulder strap/sleeves with a horizontal ruched front bust and plunging V back, heavily ruched and draped midriff concealing hidden snap and hook/eye closures that create a 'faux pleat affect' with a gorgeous wavy center skirt that is elongated! This elongated front skirt hem definitely had me a bit puzzled as usually elongated skirt hems are typically center back. But this is not a typical gown and rightly so from the striking color to the dramatic styling. All the closures are concealed within the ruched midriff with hook/eyes extending to natural waist where there are interior snaps on silk lining partially across the natural waist and then additional hook/loop closures partially up the left hand side bust. An interior cotton waistband with two hook/eyes is also partially stitched to the interior silk lining. The skirt portion from hip to hem is not lined. The shoulder straps are lined in sheer silk chiffon.
