Antique 1900s 1910s Embroidered Spider Dress, Edwardian Costume, Mrs. Lambert Costumier, M/L - L

$215.00

Wonderfully made, authentic antique 1900s 1910s Edwardian dress most likely made for a costume ball! Labeled "Mrs. Lambert Costumier Huntingdon" the bodice insert and tiered sleeve hems feature what appear to be embroidered spiders in metallic silver thread on a squiggly embroidered black net! Sheer black silk makes the outer bodice with pleated sections extending from the shoulders down to front/back waist. The tiered sleeves are made up of an interior long sleeve of gray cotton with the embroidered net sleeve hem and the shorter outer tier of sheer black silk over gray cotton with a cuffed silk hem. A silk cummerbund accents the waistline. The bodice is fully lined and boned with hand stitching at each; an interior waist band is also partially attached with a buckle closure that you pierce through the cotton tape. The skirt is made up of two layers: an interior skirt of glazed gray cotton with a pleated hem and the sheer black silk over skirt. The skirts are attached via the waistband and the outer sheer silk does have some back gathers. Two hook/eye closures at waistband with two eyes at back sides that close onto interior hooks at the inner back bodice.
