Antique 1900s Gibson Girl Dress, Edwardian Beige Wool Bishop Sleeve Pigeon Breast Bodice and Tiered Skirt, Braided Silk Trim, XXS

Lovely antique early 1900s 2pc wool Gibson Girl bishop sleeve blouse and skirt set in tannish beige wool trimmed in beige and white floral braided silk trim. The blouse / bodice has the pigeon breast / monobosom Gibson Girl silhouette enhanced with ruching, tuck pleats and trim with a fitted round neckline and long bishop sleeves. Short straight hem underneath pouched waist. Fitted cotton under bust with hook/eye closures down center. The wool outer bodice closes with hook/loops at upper left shoulder and at left side seam. Fully lined with exception of sleeves.

The long sweeping floor length skirt is fitted through the upper hip where it flows out in a lovely sweeping silhouette embellished with tiers of silk braided trim and tuck pleats followed by ruching just above the hem and three hem tiers. The skirt closes at center back with a hook/eye. No lining with exception of the waistband which is lined in cotton.

Numerous small to tiny holes to wool throughout (most notable shown - mostly on skirt). 2 tiny stitched darns. Skirt hem has scattered rust spotting. Yellowing to bodice back. Grayish marks near hook/eye closures & gray spot on back bodice. Rust staining to interior cotton bodice by closures.
