Early 1900s Victorian Edwardian Dress, Antique Sequined Silk Chantilly Lace Trained Skirt and Bodice, Re-Lined

Absolutely stunning early 1900s antique Victorian / Edwardian 2pc dress set. Heavily embellished sheer black silk bodice and skirt featuring sequined flowers and tiny steel cut beads amidst trailing metallic silver 'stems' with inserts of black Chantilly lace that shimmers with tastefully placed sequins!

The bodice is styled with a lace trimmed neckline and a heavily embellished shoulder and back collar overlay. 2/3 to 3/4 length sleeves with scalloped embellished Chantilly lace hems. The front has swirling beaded metallic silver threaded vines, stems and flowers with a seamed and partially boned elongated front hem. Black ribbed silk overlies the back and side hem. The bodice closes with snaps down the front sheer black silk. Underneath remains a small portion of the original silk lining which is shot / shredded but still helps conceal the eye closures which are now stitched onto the ‘newer’ vintage acetate type lining. The opposite side with the hooks has pink nylon covering a portion of the original silk with the hooks secured into the ‘newer’ vintage lining. I’ve re-secured all the hooks. There are 12 hook/eyes here (and a missing top eye and hook/eye at bottom).

The skirt is truly breathtaking with a scalloped asymmetrical Chantilly lace hem that cascades into an elongated backside. Both back sides are styled with gathered sections that catch your eye with sequined half bows or 'fans' which compliments the large center back bow type design! Two halves of a sequined flower come together at the center back closure. The waist has an interior grosgrain waistband with 3 hook / eye closures along with five snap closures down center skirt. The back skirt also hooks onto the bodice back. The skirt has been re-lined with vintage acetate type lining.

Condition: Very Good!

Skirt: Minor staining to lining near hem. Some minor breaks to Chantilly lace.

Bodice: Four tiny holes to silk. Two patches? on back. Missing 2 eyes / 1 hook. Some original shredded silk still remains.
