HOLD Edwardian Walking Suit, Antique 1900s Woven Silk Day Dress with Green Velvet Trim, M/L - L

Fantastic antique 1900s Edwardian walking suit / dress in a patterned woven silk intertwined with gold threads that give off a greenish hue when the light hits. The abstract pattern resembles the 'eye' of peacock feathers and although I do believe the base of the silk is black, it could very well be a very dark forest green.

The bodice jacket has a notched collared neckline trimmed in green velvet that extends down the front lapels. The jacket closes with ornamental swirling frog closures with braided bauble buttons and loops. Flattering seamwork with a flared pleated back hem. She's fully lined with gray satin and has a handmade tag "8947.23 Before 1910 Estate of M.E. Randall".

The floor length skirt has a fitted waist and a lovely flared sweeping hem. The waistband has one hook/eye closure with 4 additional hook/eye closures extending down. Glazed black cotton lines the first 9" below waistband only.

Condition: Very Good!

Jacket: Some loss / wear mostly near closures as well as a few bauble buttons. Minor wear along hem. Lining has some staining mostly near underarms & slight shredding near shoulders.

Skirt: Wear at back waistband including a tear that needs to be darned/backed. Minor hole near hem. (only found upon close examination).
