1930s Hooded Silk Velvet Leg of Mutton Sleeve Evening Coat, Vintage 30s Opera Coat, Carson Pirie Scott & Co, XS

Mind-blowing vintage 1930s hooded black silk velvet evening coat with the most amazing leg of mutton sleeves! Talk about a double whammy - my favorite material silk velvet combined with my favorite sleeve type leg-of-mutton (aka gigot sleeve) into this fantastically enchanting coat. The hood isn't super deep so you will not get lost within it's folds and a neckline band runs across the front with two velvet loop/button closures. There is only one other closure: the coat's right side panel sweeps over to the left hand side with a plastic button (replacement) /velvet loop closure. There is a corresponding velvet band on the left side panel, however, there isn't a corresponding button on the right side. She's fully lined with silk.

For reference, model is 5'2" with a 31.5" bust, 25.5" waist and 37" hip.

Condition: Good-
Some imperfections to velvet - most notable a hardened light streak down L skirt panel. 3 open seams by hem.
R sleeve has a small hole (gathered sleeve hides this), a stitched patch and 2 seam wear spots. FL hood has loose / missing stitches that need reinforcement. Open stitch marks at back hood with sloppy visible stitches at seam. Diagonal seam created at R shoulder. Silk lining has wear at underarm seams.

Even with these flaws she presents beautifully! The open seams can easily be re-stitched closed and reinforced.
